Why I Wrote this book
This book was something that started as guide for my son, growing up outside of India with limited resources in English to learn about our culture was hard. What we learnt was from what our parents taught us and with festivals happening only once a year learning about the festivals was hard and sometimes confusing.
I knew that if I wanted my son to have a better
understanding about the festivals and rituals we perform during them, I needed something more. Something that he would help him get excited for his culture, entertain him through learning about it in a fun way all while being educational! So I created “It’s That Time of Year! Diwali is Here!” It’s only been a few months, but he knows so much more about Diwali that I did at his age!
